Project
for Prevention of abuse of alcohol amongst young people:
The
project "Getting Straight Through"
is centered on the presentation of mime performances to school-age
youngsters in educational and other youth establishments capable
of staging social functions. A series of mime sketches, six
in all, are used in the show as a
basis to explore a number of facts about the effects of alcohol
consumption with the aim of developing a critical attitude in
the audience towards the personal, family, work and social problems
generated by an alcohol culture.
Attendance at the mime event
can be used as the basis for student participation in educational
activities organized around each presentation.
“Getting
Straight Through” targets youngsters in the 14-18 year
age group attending secondary school education.
